Sec. 6-29. Ineligibility for office. No judge, except a judge of probate, and no justice of the peace shall be a state marshal. (1949 Rev., S. 450; 1953, S. 190d; P.A. 00-99, S. 126, 154.) History: P.A. 00-99 replaced reference to “hold the office of sheriff or deputy sheriff” with “be a state marshal”, effective December 1, 2000.
