Sec. 2-47. Witness not privileged. No witness shall be privileged to refuse to testify to any fact, or to produce any paper, respecting which he is examined by either house of the General Assembly, or by any committee of either house or any joint committee of both houses, upon the ground that his testimony to such fact or his production of such paper may tend to disgrace him or otherwise render him infamous. History: P.A. 75-388 included the legislative program review and investigations committee among examining bodies listed; P.A. 93-250 amended section to provide that witnesses are not privileged when they are being examined by the legislative program review and investigations committee “in any program review or investigation, as defined in section 2-53d”, effective June 23, 1993; P.A. 17-60 deleted provision re Legislative Program Review and Investigations Committee, effective July 1, 2017.
